MRP Controller (Production Planning)
Location: Farmington, CT
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM; flexible start/end times
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
Pay: $30/hour
Duration: Approximately 14 weeks, starting ASAP
Opportunity: Temporary maternity leave coverage with potential for additional opportunities based on performance
Position Overview
Kelly is seeking an experienced MRP Controller to support production planning and material coordination within a machine refurbishment environment. This is a great opportunity to join a small, collaborative team and play an important role in keeping production activities, materials, and resources on schedule.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on SAP experience, particularly with creating and maintaining production orders, along with a strong understanding of production planning, materials requirements, and procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities

Manage production planning activities for the department, including the release of orders through MRP and Kanban requirements.

Create and maintain production orders and routings in SAP.

Navigate SAP bills of material (BOMs) to identify and determine correct replacement parts.

Work with technicians and mechanics to identify required replacement parts and resolve material questions.

Understand the impact of engineering change notices (ECNs), drawing revisions, and configurable BOMs.

Utilize digital machine records and spare parts manuals when appropriate.

Procure materials based on SAP MRP requirements, including MRO and Kanban items.

Create and maintain SAP master data, including source lists, info records, and other required information.

Create and maintain orders through SAP, EBS, and company purchasing card processes.

Monitor and communicate delivery, quality, and pricing issues to department leadership.

Create sales orders, purchase orders, invoices, and other documentation related to purchasing and selling equipment.

Support spare parts and service departments by approving and processing spare parts transfers.

Assist with planning activities related to capacity, resources, timing, quantities, utilization, and overall production requirements.

Identify deviations and special-order requirements and support appropriate mitigation actions.

Assist with evaluating new processes and designs for feasibility and cost effectiveness.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-
Hands-on experience with SAP is required.

Experience creating and maintaining production orders is required.

Experience with production planning, MRP, materials management, or manufacturing operations.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively with technicians, mechanics, production personnel, suppliers, and management.

Ability to navigate and interpret bills of material and related manufacturing documentation.
-
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
