Position Summary

As an Intermediate Level Structural Designer, you will continue your career as a key contributor to the design team, responsible for developing design concepts and producing 2D and 3D deliverables.

As part of this team; you will support the development of structural models in Revit or other design software for advanced technology manufacturing environments, including semiconductor fabrication and support facilities. Your responsibilities will include producing complete sets of structural plans and details that reflect the project's scope and comply with both department and client standards. You are expected to manage your own workload independently, take ownership of your assigned scope, uphold your own commitments, and have strong attention to detail. You will be given as much responsibility as you are willing to take, and your opportunities for career growth will be limited only by your own motivation, capabilities, and attitude.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D structural models based on verbal instructions or rough sketches

  • Produce complete sets of structural plans and details

  • Apply department and client standards consistently across models and documents

  • Take full ownership of assigned scope and meet schedule and quality requirements

  • Proficient in verifying completeness and accuracy of own work

  • Coordinate design efforts with related disciplines

  • Support team members by addressing needs

  • Advance design automation skills and embrace emerging technologies

  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment and uphold a Culture of Care

Working Conditions

  • Remote

  • This position is considered remote, but you may occasionally be asked to report to a Jacobs electronics office for in-person support or collaboration.

  • You are expected to provide reliable internet service at home to meet project performance requirements effectively.

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Completed coursework in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design

  • Minimum of 2 years drafting/design experience in the structural field

  • Minimum of 1 year Revit experience

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting or equivalent

  • 3 years of Revit experience

  • Experience with Navisworks and Bluebeam

  • Experience designing traditional steel and concrete structures

  • Experience with general industrial facilities, preferably semiconductor-related
