Full job description
Location: Anywhere in Country
At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.
We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go. Join EY and help to build a better working world.
The opportunity
Most product roles build software. This one transforms businesses. As Outcome / Product Lead, you will own a meaningful venture from problem discovery through lasting business value, bringing users, practitioners, designers, engineers, and specialists together around a clear outcome.
This role sits at the intersection of innovation, product management, and business transformation. You will lead ventures from discovery through scale, bringing together practitioners, users, designers, engineers, and specialists to solve high-value problems. The role is distinctive because success is measured by meaningful changes in how people work, not by delivering features alone. It is suited to a leader who values outcomes over outputs and can turn ambiguity into lasting impact.
About Challenger
Challenger is a new EY program focused on building the firm’s next generation of services. It pursues opportunities where AI enables a fundamentally different service and way of delivering it, including rethinking existing offerings and developing new ones. Small, dedicated teams build and test ideas in real conditions. Solutions that demonstrate clear business value and operational readiness transition to the business for adoption and scale.
Challenger Core develops and maintains the shared technology, methods, and risk and quality guardrails that support this work. Each team contributes reusable tools and practices, helping make the next service faster and less costly to build.
Your key responsibilities
-
Own the product vision, outcome hypothesis, priorities, roadmap, and scope from discovery through sustained value.
-
Frame problems with users and practitioners, establishing baselines, success measures, assumptions, risks, and a clear window for learning.
-
Lead research, prototypes, and experiments that test the most important assumptions and inform investment decisions.
-
Align multidisciplinary partners, respect specialist approval rights, and escalate decisions beyond your authority.
-
Partner with Product Insights to measure outcomes, surface unintended effects, and recommend whether to continue, pivot, stop, or scale.
-
Prepare business and service owners to sustain adoption, support, controls, funding, and benefits after transfer.
Skills and attributes for success
-
Strong product judgment, with the ability to turn ambiguity into clear priorities and practical experiments.
-
Curiosity to challenge conventional thinking, cut through complexity, and focus effort on the highest-value opportunities.
-
Ability to integrate user research, operational insight, and data while communicating uncertainty honestly.
-
Clear communication and influence across executives, practitioners, and technical teams.
-
Understanding of AI-enabled products, accessibility, responsible AI, human oversight, and service reliability.
To qualify you must have
-
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
-
7-9 years in product management, service innovation, or business transformation initiatives, including ownership from discovery through adoption and measurable business impact.
-
Ownership of a product, service, or transformation from discovery through adoption and measurable improvement.
-
Evidence of using research, data, and experiments to change direction and prioritize value.
-
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams without direct authority over every contributor.
-
Ability to define outcome measures, baselines, hypotheses, and safeguards against unintended impacts.
-
Experience preparing operating owners to sustain delivery, manage risk, and track benefits.
-
This role requires up to 50% travel and flexibility to go into the office in a hybrid capacity.
Ideally, you’ll also have
-
Experience redesigning end-to-end services, professional workflows, or employee experiences.
-
Product leadership in generative or agentic AI, automation, or knowledge products.
-
Experience in regulated or complex enterprise environments, including benefits realization and operational transition.
We welcome exceptional candidates from product, service design, operations, transformation, policy, domain, and entrepreneurial backgrounds; no particular degree or certification is required.
