Deliver Hospital ‑ Level Care—Right at Home

At DispatchHealth, our Paramedics play a critical role in redefining how acute care is delivered—bringing high‑quality, hospital‑level services directly to patients in their homes. If you’re a Paramedic who thrives under pressure, values autonomy, and is passionate about delivering compassionate, patient‑centered care, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact every shift.

About the Role

As a Paramedic (EMT‑P) at DispatchHealth, you will support exceptional patient care by assisting with physical exams, point‑of‑care testing, and clinical data gathering. You’ll work under the medical direction of a physician and in collaboration with a virtual Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) while being present with patients in their place of residence.

This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to remain calm in fast‑paced and dynamic environments. Clinical and on‑the‑job training are provided to support your success in delivering hospital‑level care, for appropriate conditions, in the home.

What We Offer

  • Flexible 10‑hour shifts (market‑based)

  • Average of 6–8 patient visits per shift

  • Nights, weekends, and holidays included in scheduling rotation

  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and short‑term disability

  • Paid clinical training and ongoing development

  • Company‑provided vehicle, equipment, and mobile technology

What You’ll Do

  • Obtain vital signs and collect patient data, documenting accurately in EMR and company applications

  • Facilitate physical exams using mobile technology

  • Perform diagnostic tests and treatments as directed by the virtual provider and permitted by state law, including blood draws, EKGs, splinting, and basic wound care. Specific duties may vary depending on state and local scope‑of‑practice regulations.

  • Perform indicated point‑of‑care lab testing

  • Provide discharge instructions as directed by the provider

  • Communicate with physicians and APPs via secure messaging and video using a company‑provided mobile device

  • Adhere to all medical protocols, guidelines, and legal regulations

  • Maintain, clean, and restock equipment at the end of each shift

  • Support visit completion and operational readiness through additional assigned duties

  • Drive a DispatchHealth‑branded vehicle to patient homes and manage daily supplies and equipment

  • Don and doff PPE appropriately and maintain strict infection‑prevention practices

  • Additional duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

  • Active Paramedic (EMT‑P) certification

  • Minimum 1 year of patient‑facing clinical experience

  • High school diploma or GED

  • BLS (American Heart Association) certification

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining an acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy and insurer requirements.

  • Strong customer service, communication, and technology skills

  • Experience gathering comprehensive patient histories and documenting in EMR systems

  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a care team

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • May be required: TB, MMR, Varicella, Hep-B and Influenza

Physical & Work Requirements

These are essential functions of the role , which may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and applicable state laws.

  • Ability to drive and sit in a vehicle for extended periods (day and night)

  • Ability to climb up to three flights of stairs while carrying equipment

  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to perform patient care in non‑traditional or confined spaces

  • Visual and auditory ability to perform point‑of‑care testing and patient assessment
