Full job description

Description We are looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst to support financial planning, reporting, and operational analysis for a manufacturing-focused environment in Mason, Ohio. This Long-term Contract position will play a key role in month-end close activities, forecasting, cost analysis, and performance reporting while partnering with operations and business leaders to guide sound financial decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capability, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insight.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate assigned financial reports, investigate unexpected variances, and deliver recommendations that improve business performance and financial outcomes.

  • Prepare and review monthly close materials, including profit and loss reporting, margin analysis, operating expense summaries, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

  • Partner with operations teams by contributing financial insight during meetings, projects, and continuous improvement efforts, while validating data used in decision-making.

  • Produce recurring and ad hoc reporting that compares actual results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.

  • Analyze product costs, gross margin, cost of goods sold, and manufacturing variances across material, labor, overhead, pricing, and productivity drivers.

  • Support annual budgeting and rolling forecast cycles for the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow by working closely with department leaders and testing business assumptions.

  • Maintain and enhance financial models related to working capital, cash flow, and operational performance, including loading forecast data into OneStream.

  • Assist with standard cost development, capital investment analysis, return-on-investment evaluations, and reporting tied to operational initiatives.

  • Provide support for audit, tax, inventory, and financial control activities, including occasional travel to warehouses or other facilities for physical inventory and cycle count support. Requirements • Advanced Excel capability, including financial modeling, pivot tables, lookup functions, and detailed data analysis.

  • Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, financial reporting, forecasting, variance analysis, and month-end close support.

  • Strong ability to mine, organize, and interpret large data sets and convert findings into meaningful business recommendations.

  • Solid understanding of cost accounting, inventory-related financial activity, and manufacturing performance metrics.

  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain financial results to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while meeting deadlines consistently.
