Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and optimizes production equipment in a food manufacturing environment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations with minimal downtime. This direct placement role offers openings on both 1st and 2nd shift and focuses on supporting highly automated meat processing equipment through expert electrical and mechanical maintenance.
Responsibilities

Perform all maintenance activities with safety as the highest priority, strictly following OSHA, HACCP, GMP, SQF, and food safety regulations.

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical (120V to 480V), pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production and food processing equipment.

Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and maintain consistent production efficiency.

Troubleshoot PLCs and other automation systems, focusing on inputs, outputs, and control signals (programming not required).

Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals to identify issues and plan repairs.
Essential Skills
-
Minimum 5+ years of experience in electromechanical or industrial maintenance, preferably within the food processing or manufacturing industry.

Strong proficiency working with industrial electrical components and systems from 120V up to 480V and higher.

Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot PLCs and automation systems, including inputs, outputs, and signal flow (without requiring programming).

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.

Solid understanding and practical use of lockout/tagout procedures and general industrial safety practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in a food manufacturing or meat processing environment with familiarity in HACCP, GMP, SQF, and food safety requirements.

Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance programs aimed at improving equipment reliability.

Exposure to industrial motors, assemblies, and mechanical maintenance in a high-volume production setting.

Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools for repair, assembly, and basic welding tasks.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Reading, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
