Subject Matter Expert, Fraud & Chargeback

  • Commercial
  • USA
  • Associate
  • Full Time

Description Justt helps many of the world’s largest and most recognizable brands turn chargebacks from a constant headache into a managed, predictable part of doing business. Our AI-driven platform powers chargeback operations at scale, automating disputes end to end, recovering revenue that would otherwise be lost, and removing a major operational burden from finance, risk, and operations teams across multiple regions and verticals. We’re a global company with teams across markets, and disciplines, working closely with leading players in the payments ecosystem. Our culture is built on clear thinking, collaboration, and a strong sense of ownership. At Justt, you’ll partner with product, engineering, data, success and go-to-market teams to build technology that sits at the core of modern payments, and has a direct, measurable impact on the bottom line for some of the biggest companies in the world. The Role. You are Justt's externally facing chargebacks and payments expert in the US. You are not quota-carrying, but you are measured on revenue: you shorten sales cycles, raise win rates on strategic deals, and make Justt the name US payments leaders think of first for disputes. You sit between Sales, Partnerships, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product. You are the trusted expert in the room with customers, and the voice of the US market inside Justt.

Key responsibilities

  1. Senior SME for revenue growth and strategic accounts (~20%)
  • Be the go-to payments and chargebacks expert for US strategic merchants, PSPs, and PayFacs, before and after the sale.
  • Join business reviews and escalations on top US accounts when executive credibility is needed, then hand operational follow-up to CSM and SE.
  • Spot expansion angles (new MIDs, regions, PSPs, alerts/RDR strategy) and bring them to the account owner.
  1. External representation: conferences, events and forums (~25%)
  • Represent Justt at key US events: MRC, MAG, PLS, Safeguard, etc.
  • Lead roundtables, breakfast briefings, panels, and fireside chats yourself; bring customers on stage with you.
  • Sit on industry bodies and working groups (e.g. MRC committees) and turn what you hear into Justt intel.
  • Help recruit US members for the Customer Advisory Board and Justt Council and co-host sessions.
  1. Partner with Sales on complex, high-value deals (~35%)
  • Join executive calls on enterprise deals: chargeback strategy, ROI framing, objection handling and late-stage validation.
  • Run dispute-strategy workshops with Heads of Payments, Risk and Operations (alerts vs representment vs automation, evidence quality, network monitoring programmes).
  • Support PSP, acquirer, and PayFac co-selling with domain credibility.
  • Prep AEs before key meetings and coach them on the payments story, so the team gets stronger without you in every call.
  1. Thought leadership and client-facing content (~15%)
  • Publish an original point of view at a steady pace: articles, LinkedIn, webinars, podcasts, and pieces in outlets like The Paypers.
  • Interview customers to build case studies and reference stories for the US pipeline.
  • Build reusable assets (talk tracks, one-pagers, benchmark decks) with Marketing and Enablement.
  1. Voice of the customer internally (~5%)
  • Turn US customer and market feedback into clear, prioritised product input, with Product and CS.
  • Share scheme and regulatory changes with Sales, CS and Product as they happen, with a short "what this means for our merchants" note.
  • Feed US insight into go-to-market choices: target verticals, messaging and event mix.

Requirements Must have

  • 7+ years in payments, chargebacks, fraud or risk, at an enterprise merchant, PSP, acquirer, scheme or payments SaaS vendor
  • Deep knowledge of Visa, Mastercard, and American Express dispute rules, alerts and RDR, 3DS, and monitoring programs
  • Proven track record supporting complex enterprise sales (pre-sales, advisory, or SME role)
  • A working network among US Heads of Payments, Fraud and Risk
  • Strong public speaker with a record of panels, talks, or published content
  • Commercial mindset: can link dispute strategy to merchant’s revenue, cost, and customer experience, and Justt’s commercial objectives
  • Works independently and creates momentum fast, without formal authority, while adapting to shifting business needs

Nice to have

  • Experience in high-dispute verticals: travel and hospitality, digital goods, subscription, marketplaces, gaming
  • Membership of MRC, MAG, or similar bodies
  • A clear view on AI and agentic commerce and what they mean for disputes and liability
  • Comfortable using AI tools to research, analyze and prep at speed

Reporting, location and ways of working

  • Reports to: Senior Director, Payments & Chargebacks Strategy
  • Location: US Eastern Time Zone (NYC or Tampa preferred)
  • Travel: ~35%, primarily within the US
  • Why join: you shape how US merchants handle disputes as AI and agentic commerce change the rules, backed by a team by a team that wants your voice out front.

Benefits + Perks: 🏥 Health, dental & vision insurance 📈 Equity / stock options 🏖 Generous PTO + company holidays 👶 Parental leave 📚 Company-wide shut down every last day of the quarter ✈️ Company-wide events
