BAE Systems, Inc. is looking for a highly motivated and driven software engineering intern to join our summer internship program for 2026. As a Software Engineering Technical Intern, you will join a team of engineers supporting software development opportunities that provide value to our customers and solve real world problems. Your contributions will play a crucial role in ensuring our partner s mission accomplishment and support the defense of our nation

The qualified candidate will design, develop, test and document Windows-based applications for various aircraft tests and support equipment items. The qualified candidate will contribute to the development of instrument drivers, evaluation algorithms, Graphical User Interfaces, and self-test software. The qualified candidate will also interface with Systems and Hardware Engineering. A desire to work with hardware and knowledge of basic electrical hardware design is a plus. The qualified candidate will be involved in all phases of software development lifecycle including requirements definition, design, code, integration, and test.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Majoring in one of the following programs:

• Computer Engineering

• Electrical Engineering

• Computer Science

• Software Engineering

• Other coding related degree

• Entering College Junior, or Senior year

• Driven to learn and a passion for providing excellent products

• Knowledge of Data Structures and Object Oriented Programming

• Experience in one of the following lnaguages:

• C

• Python

• MATLAB

• Java

• C#

• Javascript

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Proficient in C

• Real-time embedded development

• Full life cycle software development

• Green Hills/VxWorks/Windows/Linux OS

• GIT, Jira

• Agile development experience

• Designing and/or implementing software algorithms

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $40973 - $55342

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20 hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
