Payroll Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to support a Southern New Jersey organization in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll specialist who can manage high-volume, full-cycle payroll activities with accuracy and consistency across multiple states. The role focuses on ensuring timely employee payments, maintaining payroll records, and supporting day-to-day payroll operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Process full-cycle payroll for a workforce of more than 500 employees while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established procedures.

• Administer multi-state payroll activities and apply appropriate federal, state, and local payroll regulations across employee populations.

• Use ADP Workforce Now to enter, review, audit, and finalize payroll data for regular and off-cycle payroll runs.

• Reconcile payroll records, investigate discrepancies, and resolve payroll-related issues in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

• Maintain payroll documentation and employee pay records to support reporting, audits, and regulatory requirements.

• Review earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefit withholdings to confirm correct payroll calculations before processing is completed.

• Respond to employee and management inquiries related to pay, deductions, time reporting, and payroll adjustments.

• Assist with payroll-related reporting and support ongoing operational improvements within payroll processes and systems. Requirements • At least 5 years of payroll experience, including recent responsibility for end-to-end payroll processing.

• Proven ability to process payroll for employee populations of 500 or more.

• Hands-on experience managing payroll for employees working in multiple states.

• Strong working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.

• Solid understanding of payroll regulations, tax withholding practices, and payroll recordkeeping requirements.

• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to address payroll questions professionally and effectively.
