Your Role: The R&D Technician will perform the activities necessary to support process development efforts in a laboratory and pilot plant environment. The activities will focus mainly on new product synthesis of Organo-Silane or Organo-Metallic compounds which will include construction of experimental equipment and routine analytical analysis of process and product samples. Responsibilities and duties include: Manufacturing compounds in a laboratory or pilot plant setting Operation of pilot scale chemical reactors, filtration equipment, heater/chillers, gloveboxes and inert gas/liquid handling manifolds as well as packaging solids, liquids and gases. Responsible for safety, environmental protection, productivity, quality, and Continuous Improvement initiatives. Resolve of daily operating issues. Diagnose malfunctions. Perform preventive and operating maintenance. Record and report all deviations from normal operating conditions. Maintain up-to-date notebooks. Maintain a safe work environment. Follow all EMD Electronics corporate standards for laboratory and pilot plant EH&S.
