Job Description

• Join a specialized robot testing department where you will start up, test, debug, and troubleshoot industrial robots in both non-fluid and fluid testing areas

• You will work with teach pendants, mechanical and electrical systems, and paint fluid systems to ensure each robot operates safely, accurately, and reliably before deployment

Job Responsibilities

• Assemble and prepare robots in non-fluid testing areas for initial start-up and evaluation

• Use a teach pendant to start up robots and run them through defined test procedures

• Perform mechanical and electrical checks to verify that all systems function correctly before paint lines are attached

• Debug and troubleshoot robot issues during testing, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions

• Move robots from non-fluid testing to fluid testing areas once they pass initial mechanical and electrical checks

• Install paint tubes, fluid lines, and attachments on robots in the fluid testing area

• Test robots for correct paint spraying performance and ensure all mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems operate together as intended

• Work within robotic cells to conduct start-up, testing, and verification activities safely and efficiently

• Perform troubleshooting on paint robots, including fluid systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience with industrial robots, including start-up, testing, and troubleshooting

• Ability to operate a teach pendant to control and program robot movements during testing

• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude for evaluating robot components and systems

• Experience working in or around robotic cells and understanding of safe operating practices

• Ability to troubleshoot paint robots, including fluid systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics

• Exposure to electrical and mechanical robot systems for at least 1 year

• Experience with robot start up and troubleshooting for at least 1 year

• Background as a machine tool electrician or similar role supporting robotic equipment is highly valued

This is a Permanent position based out of Auburn Hills, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
