Full job description

In this role you will help shape the future of Philips Ultrasound imaging platforms. As a Systems Architect, you will integrate hardware, software, imaging, transducers, and clinical needs to create safe, reliable, and scalable solutions that advance clinical performance and care.

Your role:

  • Create and evolve imaging platform architectures for diagnostic ultrasound products, defining clear boundaries, interfaces, assumptions, and design rationale. Translate clinical, user, business, service, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory needs into architecture drivers and measurable system requirements.

  • Lead system-level trade studies that balance image quality and performance with thermal and power constraints, reliability, cybersecurity, cost, supply continuity, serviceability, sustainability, and platform reuse. Use modeling, prototyping, and focused experiments to reduce uncertainty and make evidence-based recommendations.

  • Evaluate emerging compute, GPU, acquisition, signal-path, display, control, power, connectivity, and transducer-interface technologies against real product and clinical needs. Contribute to reusable platform enablers and technology roadmaps that accelerate innovation across the ultrasound portfolio.

  • Define integration and verification strategies that uncover interface issues and retire the most important technical and patient-safety risks early. Maintain design and requirement integrity while guiding decisions across hardware, software, imaging, transducers, clinical science, design quality, manufacturing, and service.

  • Communicate architecture intent, alternatives, evidence, risks, and decisions clearly to technical teams and business leaders. Mentor engineers and strengthen systems thinking, architecture quality, and engineering rigor across your program teams.

You're the right fit if:

  • You have a Master’s Degree in a related discipline; PhD preferred.

  • You’ve acquired 5+ years of industry and/or academic experience in Ultrasound System Architecture, System Design, Hardware Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Your skills include Product Development Lifecycle Management, Verification and Validation Testing, Technical Documentation, Regulatory Requirements, Requirement Analysis, Business Acumen, Strategic Planning, Systems Architecture, and Risk Management.

  • You combine curiosity and invention with engineering discipline. You are energized by new technology and equally committed to patient safety, reliability, quality, and responsible product realization.

  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

This is an office role.
