About the Role & Team:
As a Walt Disney Animation Studios Technology Intern, you will have the unique opportunity to work directly with a Disney mentor while exploring all aspects of technology in relation to filmmaking. This immersive program offers hands-on experience focused on individual craft and multidisciplinary team collaboration. Learn more about our filmmaking process here (https://www.disneyanimation.com/process/) .
The Information Services team at Walt Disney Animation Studios designs and develops internal web-based solutions that optimize our studio's business processes and inform decision-making. We partner with a wide range of departments — including Analytics, Production Management, HR, Recruitment, Communications, Training, and Finance — to build tools that are elegant, scalable, and tailored to the unique needs of an animation studio.
What You Will Do:
As a Full Stack Web Development Intern, you'll work closely with engineers and stakeholders to understand real user workflows and implement solutions across the full stack. This is a hands-on role for someone curious about web technologies and excited to see their work used daily by the people making Disney animated films.
Your primary project will focus on elevating how the team monitors, scales, and interacts with our internal web applications. Depending on immediate team initiatives when you arrive, you will own a standalone project end-to-end that our teams could leverage long-term. This could involve designing a shared observability framework and instrumentation libraries to harden our systems, building automated CI/CD pipeline tools, creating interactive dashboards for leadership data analysis, or leveraging applied AI for automated code migration and system triage.
