Job Description:
Senior Vice President, Social Strategy – Chicago
Golin Ketchum Chicago is seeking a Senior Vice President, Social Strategy to lead social strategy for a bespoke team built to serve one of the world's biggest brands. This is a senior leadership role on one of our agency's most important accounts. You'll set the strategic vision for social across the business and make sure that vision comes to life through content and channel execution. This role is a key member of the account's leadership team and a trusted thought partner to clients.
We believe social strategy and creative are two sides of the same coin — strategy without a point of view on how it comes to life is incomplete, and creative without a clear strategic destination rarely lands. We're looking for someone who can bridge that gap: who brings channel expertise and a sharp read on where culture is headed, and who can rally teams and clients around a clear, forward-thinking vision.
This business moves in a high velocity retail environment, touching millions of people and fans daily. We need a leader who can bring order and ambition to that scale: building strong processes and clear roles and responsibilities for a large and high-performing team, while never losing sight of the bigger, bolder idea.
Sound like a match? Let's connect!
What You'll Do:
-
Own and articulate the social strategic vision for the business, working in partnership with peers from other communities like creative, planning, analytics and beyond
-
Serve as the client’s strategic partner and subject matter expert on channel strategy, cultural trends, and social content optimization. Lead, mentor and grow a team of social strategists, building a shared vision the team can rally around
-
Push the account and broader social team to think ahead of culture, what moves the needle in social and how brands can win. Translate what’s next into recommendations and innovations that move the business forward. Build and manage senior client relationships, serving as a trusted counselor and serial ideator
-
Partner with new business teams to bring social strategy thinking to pitches and organic growth opportunities
-
Apply Golin Ketchum’s proprietary tools and innovations to sharpen strategy and prove impact
What You Have:
-
10+ years of experience in social/digital strategy with demonstratable experience leading organic social at winning brands
-
Track record of leading social strategy for large, complex, high-visibility accounts
-
History of turning cultural insights into content and measurable business outcomes for clients
-
Culturally savvy — deeply plugged into social culture, with an ability to anticipate what's next and push teams and clients to think differently
-
Proven ability to lead teams toward a shared vision, building strong internal and client partnerships along the way
-
Experience establishing clear team processes and roles and responsibilities (R&Rs) in fast-moving environments
-
Insatiable curiosity about emerging social platforms, formats and best practices, and the ability to share that knowledge with others
-
Impeccable presentation skills to inspire C-level clients and colleagues alike
-
Champion of diverse talent, proactively cultivates an inclusive culture, and uses cultural competence to drive agency and client's business forward
