Job Description

Description: Carroll College Carroll College invites applications for the position of Collections Librarian. This role is responsible for the strategic development, management, and accessibility of the Library’s collections in support of the College’s academic mission. The Collections Librarian evaluates, acquires, catalogs, and manages a wide range of resources, including print books, eBooks, DVDs, electronic resources, serials, and other library materials.

The successful candidate will lead collection development efforts, assess and maintain electronic information resources, and oversee the acquisition and management of print serials. This position serves as a key liaison to academic departments, the TRAILS consortium, and other library-related organizations, fostering collaboration to ensure collections effectively support teaching, learning, and research needs.

In addition, the Collections Librarian provides reference and instructional support through individual consultations, classroom instruction, telephone assistance, and electronic communication. The position also contributes to the development of online instructional materials, research guides, and other web-based resources that enhance access to library services and collections.

This is an 11.5 month appointment working 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have Masters of Library Science from an ALA-accredited graduate program plus one year of electronic resources work experience in an academic library or similar setting as well as knowledge of, or experience with, library-specific information systems and technologies, such as integrated library systems, content management systems, and institutional repositories.
