Full job description
Mission: The mission of this agency is to provide flood protection through the operation and maintenance of a large flood-control system consisting of levees, pumping stations, floodgates, floodwalls, and drainage structures.
Overview of Role: This position will support the evaluation, implementation, and ongoing operation of technology solutions that enhance public safety services and organizational efficiency. This position will work closely with law enforcement personnel to identify operational needs, analyze business processes, support mission-critical systems, and assist with technology projects. This position helps ensure public safety technology systems remain reliable, secure, and aligned with operational objectives.
Promotional- Eligible applicants must be a current, permanent classified employee of Tensas Basin Levee DistrictThree years of experience in information technology, project management or business analysis; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in information technology, project management or business analysis; OR
An associate’s degree in information technology plus one year of experience in information technology, project management or business analysis; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus one year of experience in information technology, project management or business analysis; OR
A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in an information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics field; OR
A master’s degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NOTE: A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles. Job Duties:• Analyzes and supports operational surveillance requirements by selecting, deploying, configuring, testing, and installing camera systems and related technology to enhance security, situational awareness, and protection of the district’s levees, facilities, property, infrastructure, and personnel.
- Evaluates wireless connectivity, radio communications, and access-control requirements associated with the police department field operations and assists with developing and deploying solutions to improve communications and operational coverage in areas served by the district.
- Evaluates operational needs and develops, recommends, implements, and supports technology-based solutions and platforms designed to improve law enforcement operations, emergency response, communications, security, field data collection, situational awareness, asset monitoring, and protection of district infrastructure.
Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Promotional- Eligible applicants must be a current, permanent classified employee of Tensas Basin Levee District Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
