Position Summary/Description:

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

This posting is for two (2) positions (Position ID 20078779 and 20078777). By applying to this posting, you will be considered for both positions.

The Associate Director of Student Engagement is responsible for effective delivery of educational services, activities, and events that are necessary to maintain the high-quality experience for students enrolled in Office of Specialized Master’s Programs ( OSM ) degree programs. The position serves a central role in maintaining and enhancing exemplary support services for students to promote retention and satisfaction. The Associate Director is responsible for developing and executing the strategy for programming and support services delivered to OSM students. They regularly assess efforts, report outcomes, and implement changes that enhance student experiences for their assigned degree programs. They are responsible for the student engagement operating budget, seeking ways to enhance student experiences and program outcomes through budget allocation and targeted expenditures. The Associate Director is expected to research current trends in graduate business education and conduct benchmarking against top programs. They will work in both a collaborative capacity with team colleagues across OSM Admissions and Career Services, Financial Aid, Veterans Affairs, and other relevant units at Kenan-Flagler Business School and across the university. The Associate Director has oversight and administrative authority and discretion in areas such as student services and support, policy creation and implementation, and the allocation of resources.

Education and Experience:

  • Experience working in higher education and/or working with student populations.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills;

  • Project management skills.
