Accounting Manager (CV940-147) - Finance Division

Accounting Manager Lead accounting operations. Strengthen financial controls. Support accurate reporting.

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to support the daily activities of the Accounting Department. Reporting to the Controller, this role participates in all aspects of accounting, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll oversight, subsidized housing accounting, and rental calculations.

This position is ideal for an accounting professional with strong supervisory experience, a thorough knowledge of GAAP, and the ability to manage multiple financial functions while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and strong working relationships.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist the Controller with the daily operations of the Accounting Department

  • Participate in all aspects of the general ledger (GL) function

  • Support and oversee accounts receivable (AR) activities

  • Support and oversee accounts payable (AP) activities

  • Directly supervise the payroll function and Payroll Coordinator

  • Ensure payroll activities are completed accurately and efficiently

  • Manage accounting related to subsidized housing programs

  • Complete rental calculations in accordance with HUD regulations

  • Apply GAAP principles across accounting and financial reporting activities

  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and related accounting documentation

  • Perform financial analyses as required

  • Support budgeting and financial administration activities

  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal departments and colleagues

  • Utilize accounting software and systems to support accurate financial operations

  • Complete other accounting and financial duties as assigned

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience

  • Supervisory experience required

  • Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Knowledge of financial administration principles, including budgeting and reporting

  • Ability to prepare financial statements and reports and perform financial analyses

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, personal computers, and accounting software

  • Experience with Great Plains and Ultimate Software preferred, but not required
