Litigation Associate - Los Angeles, CA

Description: Fox Rothschild has an opening in the Los Angeles, CA office for a Litigation Associate with three to six years of experience. The ideal candidate will have experience handling complex commercial litigation matters and managing a diverse litigation caseload. This associate will work closely with attorneys across the firm's Litigation Department on a broad range of matters including banking and finance, real estate and construction, insurance, business torts, and class actions. This position offers meaningful client interaction, substantial responsibility, and the opportunity to work on sophisticated matters in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. We are not currently accepting resumes from search firms for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) required. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong academic credentials and excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills required.

  • Experience drafting and responding to pleadings, motions, and written discovery required.

  • Experience conducting legal research, preparing case strategy, and communicating directly with clients required.

  • Experience taking and defending depositions preferred.

  • Experience preparing for and participating in mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings preferred.

  • Federal or state judicial clerkship experience is a plus.

  • Trial experience preferred but not required.

  • Large law firm experience strongly preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including, but not limited to computers, telephones, printers, and copiers.

Physical Requirements

  • Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.

Compensation & Benefits

  • The salary range for this position applies to California. The salary range reflects a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a position. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $240,000 - $280,000
