Full job description
About Ramp Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $275B in annualized spend flows in and out of 85,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books. The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving. We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome. The median Ramp customer saves 7.5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same. If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.
About the Role As a Manager on the Commercial Account Management team, you will lead a team of Account Managers who serve as the dedicated, named partners for some of Ramp's fastest growing customers. Your team drives revenue through expansion, renewal and retention across a high-volume book of business, while delivering the white-glove experience of a trusted advisor. You will coach your team to uncover and close multi-product expansion opportunities and help sharpen a proven account management motion as the segment scales. What You'll Do
-
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Commercial Account Managers focused on expansion and retention across a scaled customer portfolio
-
Own team-level pipeline, forecasting, and revenue targets — driving accountability through clear metrics and performance frameworks
-
Develop and execute scalable upsell/cross-sell strategies and ensure the team maintains a robust, healthy expansion pipeline
-
Build a deep understanding of Ramp customer personas and instill a consultative, trusted-advisor approach across your team
-
Equip your team with sales methodologies to uncover customer needs and pain points effectively
-
Stay close to changes in Ramp's product and go-to-market motion, and translate those shifts into how your team sells, prioritizes, and talks to customers
-
Synthesize customer feedback from your team to inform Ramp's product roadmap and customer communication strategy
-
Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operations to continuously improve efficiency and advocate for your customers
-
Hire and onboard top talent as the team scales
What You'll Need
-
Minimum 6 years of customer-facing or direct sales experience, with at least 2 years in a people management role
-
Proven track record of leading high-performing teams in a high-velocity sales environment
-
Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and the ability to build and maintain team-level reporting and dashboards
-
Background in outbound prospecting, product demonstrations, and hands-on experience with sales tools and processes
-
Consultative sales mindset with strong analytical skills and the ability to coach others to engage with business challenges at a strategic level
-
Comfort engaging with and enabling your team to sell to C-level executives, finance teams, and key decision makers
-
Consistent track record of hitting or exceeding team-level sales targets with strong team distribution in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
-
Strong operational rigor — data-driven approach to tracking team performance and identifying coaching opportunities
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to represent the team internally and externally
-
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across a growing team
-
Entrepreneurial mindset: a self-starter who thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and can build process where little exists
