Summary
This position is located in the Office of Intelligence Operations, Operational Intelligence Division (OID), Analysis Production Branch at the ATF Headquarters in Washington, D.C. The OID mission is to provide a full range of synchronized intelligence to support ATF, federal partners, and customers to protect public safety and combat firearms trafficking and violence.
Duties
The major duties of the Intelligence Operations Specialist position include, but are not limited to, the following: Serves as a senior advisor and primary consultant in the dissemination of multi-source intelligence and subject matter expert for human intelligence collection and operations. Applies expert knowledge of intelligence information acquisition and research, and the methodologies and applicable tradecraft used to overtly collect information of intelligence value from a variety of sources. Serves as subject matter expert for supporting complex intelligence collection and dissemination activities. Identifies and disseminates raw information from various sources to support existing or emerging intelligence programs, analytic requirements, and approved collection plans. Plans and directs management of the entire regional collection effort from identifying the information need to delivering a fused intelligence product to the consumer. Requirements
The requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Must be U.S. Citizen or National Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31st 1959. Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file. May be required to serve a one-year probationary period. Pass drug screening and be subject to random drug tests. Suitable for Federal employment determined by background investigation. You must meet all applicable time-in-grade requirements by the closing of this announcement. MOBILITY PLAN: New employees hired pursuant to this vacancy announcement must sign a mobility agreement. The purpose of ATF's mobility policy is to enhance career development and progression, and achieve mission and business effectiveness. To accomplish these objectives, the mobility plan will facilitate the movement of employees through special short-term assignments or permanent reassignments throughout the Bureau. Applicants who decline to sign a mobility agreement, as required, will be removed from the hiring process. This is a non-bargaining unit position. Qualifications
To qualify for the Intelligence Operations Specialist position at the GS-14 grade level, you must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Minimum Qualifications Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. To qualify for this position at the GS-14 grade level, candidates must meet the following specialized experience by the closing date of this announcement. EXPERIENCE: Candidates must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include all of the following: Applying knowledge of intelligence information acquisition and research methodologies to collect information of intelligence value; AND Identifying and disseminating raw information from various sources to support existing or emerging intelligence programs, analytic requirements, and approved collection plans; AND Planning and directing management of a regional collection effort from identifying the information need to delivering a fused intelligence product to the consumer; AND Producing, reviewing and releasing raw intelligence information reports that balance the needs of protecting sources and the integrity of the information, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules and Departmental regulations. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirements using experience alone. No substitution of education for experience is permitted. How You Will Be Evaluated
In order to be considered for this position, you must complete all required steps in the process.
