MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As a Systems Engineer Senior, the work you’ll do will be impactful to the mission of the Army's Network Enterprise Technology Command. You will play a crucial role in the design, development, engineering, integration, and technical and operational support to employ specified Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET), Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET), and Deployed Forces (DF) portion of the Department of Defense Information Network (DOWIN).

  • Lead/Manage/Support by providing secure configuration management support, testing and technical support across enterprise IT environments.

  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of system configurations by maintaining complete configuration management records.

  • Coordinate, review, and maintain system documentation for enterprise systems and provide guidance to administrators.

  • Support operational organizations with configuration changes, compliance efforts, and technical troubleshooting.

  • Identify, control, record, audit, and verify services and configuration items (CIs), versions, baselines, attributes, and relationships.

  • Provide strategic planning, execution, and management for the design, build, and deployment of enterprise systems across testing, production, and multi‑network environments.

  • Design, build, harden, test, and optimize enterprise hardware systems, software components, and technical architectures.

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimize system performance and ensure successful technical outcomes.

  • Drive success and innovation by participating in technical working groups, cross‑functional reviews, and enterprise planning efforts and by providing advanced technical mentorship and knowledge transfer to engineering teams.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Systems Engineer Senior must have:

  • Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience: 5+ years of related experience.

  • Technical skills: DoW 8570.1-M certification: IAT Level III Certification (i.e., CASP/SecurityX, CISSP, CISA) and Computing Environment Certification.

  • Security clearance level: Secret to begin work with the ability to attain and hold a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

  • Role requirements: Proven experience in Core Engineering & Architecture, including systems design, integration, and interoperability. A strong background in Linux, preferably RHEL. Experience in Satellite and Capsule is also strongly recommended. Deep understanding of secure configuration management, DISA STIG implementation, and POA&M mitigation processes. Familiarity with Enterprise level change management processes, Baseline and CMDB management, and release management. Working knowledge of DoDIN/NIPRNET/SIPRNET enterprise architecture. Virtualization: VMware ESXi/vCenter, Hyper‑V, DISA STIGs, secure configuration management. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and a working knowledge of Microsoft Visio. All work is onsite.

The likely salary range for this position is $88,130 - $117,300. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
