Telecom Engineer

Description

We're seeking a Telecom Engineer to support and enhance a modern cloud-based telecom and contact center environment. This role will focus on Cisco Webex Calling, Genesys Cloud, VoIP technologies, and a large-scale migration from Mitel to Cisco Webex. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who thrives in a collaborative team environment and takes ownership from issue identification through resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Cisco Webex Calling, Genesys Cloud, and other cloud telephony platforms.

• Configure call routing, queues, call flows, agent settings, and user provisioning.

• Support the ongoing migration from Mitel to Cisco Webex across multiple locations.

• Troubleshoot telecom, contact center, routing, and voice service issues.

• Manage telecom support tickets through full lifecycle resolution, including root cause analysis.

• Maintain hybrid telecom environments during migration and transition periods.

• Support telecom hardware, mobile devices, VoIP endpoints, and Microsoft Intune administration.

• Participate in system upgrades, platform enhancements, and new technology deployments.

• Recommend process improvements to enhance system performance and user experience.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of telecom engineering or telecom administration experience in a high-volume enterprise environment.

• Strong experience with cloud telephony platforms, including:

• Cisco Webex Calling

• Genesys Cloud

• VoIP technologies

• Experience troubleshooting call routing, contact center queues, and telecom outages.

• Ability to independently manage complex support issues while collaborating effectively with teammates.

• Strong communication skills and customer service mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting or migrating from Mitel environments.

• Microsoft Intune administration experience.

• Contact center platform administration experience.
