REMOTE Mumps Developer

Job Description

We are seeking Mumps consultants with strong application development experience in large-scale healthcare payer/claims systems, not primarily production support or maintenance backgrounds. We are looking for true developers/architects who have designed and built claims processing functionality on enterprise healthcare payer platforms, rather than candidates whose experience is primarily production support, maintenance, or operational issue resolution. We are also looking for developers who enjoy understanding and improving development frameworks, generators, and platform capabilities, not just developers who expect to write standalone application code. Candidates should be comfortable learning proprietary tooling and working at both the application and platform/framework levels.

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on MUMPS development experience in large-scale, high-volume healthcare payer/claims systems, understanding both technical development & its claims-related business implications
• Experience designing and building claims processing solutions (new claims capabilities, major enhancements, regulatory changes, pricing models, or benefit logic) on enterprise healthcare payer platforms (ownership of adjudication, pricing, benefits, payment integrity, provider reimbursement, eligibility, & COB) Proven experience designing and building new MUMPS functionalities from the ground up, not just production support or maintaining existing code Experience with InterSystems Caché or IRIS Experience modernizing or re-platforming legacy applications
