Full job description
Warehouse & Construction Support Associate
Location: Hazleton, PA
Work Arrangement: 100% On-Site / Field-Based
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Warehouse & Construction Support Associate to support a growing fiber infrastructure operation in the Hazleton area.
This is a hands-on position primarily responsible for the day-to-day operation of a laydown yard and warehouse supporting active infrastructure construction projects. You'll be responsible for receiving materials, maintaining accurate inventory, loading and unloading deliveries, operating material-handling equipment, and keeping the yard organized and safe.
What makes this opportunity different from a traditional warehouse position is the potential to also gain exposure to OSP fiber construction and field inspection work.
When warehouse activity allows, someone with the right background may assist the construction team in the field by documenting work, observing contractor activity, and helping inspect fiber infrastructure installations.
Primary Responsibilities
-
Receive incoming construction materials and verify quantities and condition
-
Maintain accurate receiving documentation for inbound materials
-
Enter receipts, transfers, adjustments, and material picks into the inventory management system
-
Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
-
Stage materials and equipment based on project and construction needs
-
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment
-
Maintain an organized laydown yard and warehouse
-
Track the movement of materials coming into and leaving the facility
-
Support scheduled inventory and cycle counts
-
Help investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies
-
Make sure materials are properly stored and easily identifiable
-
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
-
Follow established safety procedures and equipment requirements
-
Coordinate with construction and operations teams regarding material needs and availability
Additional Construction Support
The warehouse and laydown yard will be the primary responsibility of this position. However, candidates with OSP, telecom, utility, or construction experience may also have the opportunity to support field activities when needed.
Additional responsibilities could include:
-
Assist with daily field oversight of OSP construction activities
-
Help verify construction work against approved drawings, permits, specifications, and project scope
-
Observe and document contractor activity, production, manpower, and equipment
-
Support inspections of conduit, handholes, fiber, vaults, and related infrastructure
-
Help ensure appropriate PPE, traffic control, and jobsite safety requirements are being followed
-
Document construction progress through daily reports, inspection records, photos, and asset information
-
Identify and escalate potential construction, utility, permitting, quality, or safety issues
-
Assist with punch-list activities and verification of corrective work
-
Support final project documentation and closeout activities
What We're Looking For
-
Previous warehouse, yard, logistics, inventory, material handling, or construction support experience
-
Experience receiving and tracking materials
-
Comfortable loading and unloading trucks and handling construction materials
-
Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or similar equipment
-
Comfortable using computers or inventory systems to document material movement
-
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
-
Safety-minded and comfortable working in an active warehouse/yard environment
-
Ability to work independently and stay productive as daily priorities change
-
Strong communication skills and willingness to work with warehouse, operations, and construction teams
-
OSP, fiber, telecom, utility, civil construction, or construction inspection experience is a strong plus
-
Experience with conduit, handholes, vaults, fiber infrastructure, construction drawings, or field documentation is a plus
Why This Opportunity
This is a strong opportunity for someone who likes hands-on warehouse and material handling work but wants exposure beyond the four walls of a warehouse.
The primary responsibility will always be making sure the laydown yard is operating correctly and that construction materials are received, documented, stored, and ready when the field teams need them.
For someone who also brings telecom, OSP, utility, or construction knowledge, there is an opportunity to add value in the field and gain additional exposure to fiber construction inspection and project support.
