The Harness Design Engineer will lead end-to-end wiring harness design and release for Clothes Care products, supporting new, feature-rich platforms. This role develops innovative harness solutions that meet performance requirements, UL/regulatory needs, reliability targets, and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) objectives for high-volume production. Responsibilities span concept development through prototype builds, verification/reliability testing support, and production launch.

How You'll Create Possibilities
Essential Responsibilities:

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operations teams within a Lean product development process.

Design and release complete wiring harness systems, including connector selection, wire/cable selection, harness routing/packaging, and manufacturing considerations.

Create and maintain wiring diagrams/schematics, harness drawings, and related engineering documentation.
-
Build and/or support prototype harness builds to validate feasibility, manufacturability, serviceability, and assembly methods.
-
Coordinate harness fabrication with external suppliers, including quality plans and qualification activities.
-
Partner with Controls/EE teams to support product-level EMI/EMC testing and issue resolution.
-
Ensure compliance with UL requirements for harnesses, connectors, and related components.

Drive connector and harness standardization across product lines to improve quality, cost, and reuse.

Apply Six Sigma and reliability engineering methods to validate designs, drive corrective actions, and implement robust solutions.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
-
7+ years of engineering design experience for high-volume manufactured products (wiring harness experience strongly preferred)
-
Demonstrated project planning and technical leadership capability
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach
-
Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience using Creo Schematic (and/or similar electrical CAD tools)
-
Experience meeting regulatory requirements (UL)
-
Experience in connector selection/design, validation, and supplier qualification
-
Proven track record leading multiple development programs through launch
-
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
-
Experience troubleshooting and resolving EMI/EMC issues
