Shifts Available: Days (2 shifts per week)

Employment Type: Part Time Days

Hours: 12 Hour Shifts

Location: Southern Regional Medical Center Riverdale, GA

We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist, sometimes referred to as a Lung Health Coordinator, Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) Coordinator or an RRT PFT Coordinator. The Registered Respiratory Therapist performs comprehensive pulmonary diagnostic testing, including spirometry, lung volumes, diffusion capacity, and related assessments, to help diagnose and monitor respiratory conditions. This role also supports patients throughout the lung health care continuum by providing education, reducing barriers to care, coordinating communication with the care team, and maintaining patient navigation data.

Responsibilities

** You must have your RRT and at least one year of experience as an RRT (any setting) to move forward in this position. **

  • Perform pulmonary function testing, including spirometry, lung volumes, diffusion capacity, and other related diagnostic studies to evaluate respiratory status

  • Assist with the diagnosis and ongoing monitoring of pulmonary conditions by ensuring accurate test results, documentation, and follow up coordination

  • Provide education to patients and families regarding lung health, respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and available resources

  • Serve as a communication link between patients, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team to support continuity of care

  • Maintain and update a central database to support patient navigation, track follow up needs, and improve coordination across the care continuum

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  1. Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.

  2. Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.

  3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.

  4. Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.

  5. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.

  6. Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is preferred.

  7. Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.

  8. Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.
