About the team Payment Success Management (PSM) is a merchant-facing team that diagnoses and fixes payment performance problems. When a merchant's performance falls short of expectations or trails another payment provider, we find the root cause and close the gap. This role supports US-based merchants and works alongside our account managers and technical account managers.
How you'll make an impact
-
Own merchant performance engagements from start to finish, typically about three months each: kickoff, diagnosis, fixes, A/B testing and reporting results.
-
Dig deep into large, complex datasets to find the root cause of performance gaps. Merchants tell us there's a problem, not where it is.
-
Turn your findings into hypotheses, run A/B tests and other experiments to prove them, and measure the uplift.
-
Understand how our machine-learning optimization engine makes decisions. Spot patterns where it gets things wrong and work with our ML engineering team to fix them.
-
Present your findings and results to merchants and non-technical stakeholders as a clear, persuasive story.
-
Use automation and AI to make the team's day-to-day work more efficient.
-
Share what you learn across teams. The problems we solve are rarely the same twice.
What we're looking for
-
2+ years of experience using data to drive measurable results, such as revenue uplift, cost reduction or efficiency gains, in a role where you owned the metrics and the decisions.
-
Strong SQL and Python skills for analysis. You should be confident checking your own queries, and any AI-generated code, for accuracy. You don't need to write production-quality code, and we'll teach you Go.
-
Natural curiosity. You enjoy solving problems that don't have a ready-made answer.
-
The ability to explain complex analysis clearly to non-technical audiences.
-
Payments experience isn't required. We'll teach you everything you need in your first weeks.
-
We'd love to hear from people with consulting backgrounds, where you linked client teams and technical teams, or startup backgrounds, where you owned and optimized things end to end.
