CP Development Lead NA-ANZ

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Crop Production Development Lead North America – Australia/New Zealand, are to:

  • Architect the successful delivery of pipeline and portfolio for CP in the NA-ANZ region;

  • Sustain the portfolio and bring novel solutions that meet customer needs for a given crop;

  • Deliver Data for CP pipeline and projects which are robust and of highest quality to accelerate pipeline and portfolio;

  • Direct the allocation of internal and external budget and controls expenditures to optimize the return on R&D investment.Ensure CP resources are optimally utilized to deliver the important projects on time or before;

  • Drive proactively prioritization of agronomic positioning trials and data to ensure launch success by co-creating “agronomy as a core competence”;

  • Contribute to advancing skills and competencies within the capability home and improving ways of working to maximize value;

  • Function as the bridge between agronomy, product value, and market realities to shape the North America portfolio strategy, guides tactical commercial decisions, enables cross crop value creation, and strengthens national recommendations;

  • Be scientifically credible, customer proximate and commercially influential role, fully embedded in country commercial workflows;

  • Lead development of testing and evaluation programs for new CP products work done in NA-ANZ Region;

  • Develop strategies for maintaining existing products, ideation/development of new products; improvement of processes and efficiencies;

  • Drive the activities related to LCM ideation and project proposal for NA-ANZ Region in coordination with partnering functions;

  • Coordinate activities for technical development of solutions within CP, and partnering with Project Mgt., ARI, Formulation Technology, Regulatory Science (Regulatory Affairs, Environmental Safety, Human Safety, Stewardship) and other functions where collaboration creates success (Commercial Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, etc.) to meet regulatory requirements and deliver a robust Solutions concept;

  • Lead knowledge transfer to RS, MD, and core business teams participating in key decisions, determining registration needs and marketing strategies;

  • Lead AS regional team to provide bio-dossiers, technical information, training materials;

  • Support registration and product launch with technical aspects of GAP and benefits;

  • Leverage global research and provide information relevant for NA-ANZ Region;

  • Keep abreast of new competitors and trends in the industry to translate those into strategic insights during the development of portfolio;

  • Provide insights related to potential acquisition / divestiture products or third party collaborations;

  • Act in conjunction with legal and marketing, arrange confidential testing agreements with third party companies, CROs, or other research partners;

  • Direct the activities to ensure full compliance with local regulations, SSHE requirements, and internal Bayer code of conduct /policies;

  • Function as a role model with leadership behavior, set trackable objectives for the team, prioritize work, and to give appraisal;

  • Ensure development of competencies and skills (individual and collective) within the team;

  • Support personal development to make best use of individual potential;

  • Orchestrate and elevate technical capabilities by collaborating with Home Leads in CP and ARI to deploy the right skills where they create the greatest business impact, identifying capability needs, and ensuring resources are aligned to priority outcomes across the organization;

  • Ensure coherence in portfolio positioning and competitive defense in Value Proposition Teams, for tactical and strategic decisions;

  • Operate as a strategic anchor within North America commercial processes;

  • Support strategic prioritization and scenario planning for North America.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in an agricultural science or related biological science with 10 years of experience related to R&D functions; OR

  • Master’s degree in agricultural science or related biological science with 12 years of experience related to R&D functions; OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in agricultural science or related biological science with 15 years of experience related to R&D functions.

Relocation may be offered role.

This posting will be available for application until at least October 21, 2026.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $183,920.00 to $275,880.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
