This leader will inherit significant work already underway across MaineGeneral's Workforce & Culture strategy, including employee engagement and retention, leadership development and succession planning, Total Rewards, and development of sustainable workforce pipelines. The CHRO will also serve as a key executive partner as MaineGeneral navigates significant organizational and technological transformation, including implementation of Epic.

Job Description:

  • Advance MaineGeneral's employee engagement and retention strategy, partnering with leaders to strengthen communication, collaboration, accountability and the overall employee experience.

  • Continue development of an integrated leadership strategy encompassing leadership competencies, development, talent review and succession planning.

  • Lead workforce planning and sustainable talent pipeline strategies that anticipate future workforce needs and strengthen access to critical and hard-to-fill talent.

  • Advance a competitive and financially sustainable Total Rewards strategy that supports recruitment, retention and employee experience.

  • Partner with executive and operational leaders through organizational transformation, including workforce restructuring, change management and workforce readiness associated with Epic implementation.

  • Strengthen the use of workforce data, analytics and technology to identify trends, evaluate outcomes and inform organizational decisions.

  • Develop and lead a high-performing HR leadership team capable of translating strategy into effective execution.

  • Ensure HR policies, practices and programs support regulatory compliance, organizational consistency and effective workforce management.

  • Champion MaineGeneral's culture and values while helping the organization evolve to meet the changing needs of its workforce, patients and communities.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will bring significant progressive Human Resources leadership experience within a complex organization, preferably within health care or another highly regulated, workforce-intensive environment. Experience as a CHRO, Chief People Officer, SVP/VP of Human Resources, or senior HR executive with broad functional responsibility will be considered.

Competitive candidates will demonstrate:

  • Significant progressive HR leadership experience with enterprise or major operating-unit responsibility.

  • Experience partnering directly with CEOs, Presidents, Boards and senior executive teams.

  • Demonstrated success developing workforce, talent, engagement and organizational strategies tied to business priorities.

  • Experience leading significant organizational change and transformation.
