CMT Technician

Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician

Join a growing team supporting commercial construction projects throughout the Dallas area. This hands-on field role focuses on soil and concrete testing, equipment operation, and accurate reporting to help ensure project quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction materials testing, inspection, or related field experience.

• Experience with soil density, compaction, and concrete testing.

• Familiarity with nuclear density gauges (Troxler or similar).

• Strong attention to detail, documentation, and basic math skills.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying job site conditions.

• Strong communication skills and willingness to work overtime as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform soil, concrete, density, compaction, and gradation testing.

• Conduct slump, air content, and pressure testing.

• Operate and maintain testing equipment.

• Record and submit accurate field reports and test data.

• Coordinate with contractors, superintendents, and project teams.

• Transport, load, and unload testing equipment.

• Follow all company and site safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous CMT experience on commercial construction projects.

• Interest in obtaining industry certifications and advancing within the field.

Work Environment

Primarily field-based work on active construction sites throughout the Dallas area. Requires lifting and carrying testing equipment, working outdoors, and maintaining flexibility for varying schedules. Typical workweeks range from 40-60 hours, with opportunities for training and career growth.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of DALLAS, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
