SUMMARY: The Drafter is responsible for creating drawings that exhibit the detail and method of assembly for a variety of machinery and mechanical devices. Develop detailed designs for mechanical equipment and controls Create 3D models from old mylar prints Provide details on component descriptions Resolve design problems Make revisions/corrections to prints after machining to reflect actual inspection assembly of the tool Review and analyze specifications Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery Compute dimensions of materials and purchase accordingly Correct operating deficiencies Draft technical details Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures Draw in minute details of structures Design the parts of a machine Consult technical handbooks and tables while in drafting phase Use Computer Aided Design and Drafting systems to prepare drawings 3D Create and store drawings electronically Experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems Program drawings into automated manufacturing systems Prepare variations of design Prepare engineering drawings that detail plans and specifications Other duties may be assigned Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area. Keep all walkways and aisle free of any debris or clutter. Maintain 5S standards by returning tools to shadow boards. Sweep floor and finishing area as needed. Daily attendance is a requirement for the job, as is arriving on time. Overtime is expected when customer demand dictates the need. Other duties may be assigned. Support with miscellaneous plant functions (i.e. plant layouts, automation projects, application engineering, etc.) QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
