A Snapshot of Your Day

This request is for areplacement Wind Technician within the Service Operations 3 team for SiemensEnergy's Onshore Wind Power division in North America. This role will be located primarily in Wellsburg, Iowa. The role is essentialfor maintaining operational continuity and fulfilling service commitments by ensuringthe proper maintenance, repair, and operation of wind turbine assets. To meetthese objectives, the role is structured around three core areas: on-sitetechnical service, operational diagnostics and reporting, and adherence tosafety and quality protocols. This focus ensures the technician can effectivelyaddress both routine maintenance and unscheduled repairs while maintainingcomprehensive documentation and upholding the highest safety standards. Giventhe focus on hands-on technical work and diagnostics, the ideal candidate willbe an experienced para-professional with a vocational or technical degree, orequivalent experience. They must possess strong mechanical and electricaltroubleshooting skills, experience with preventive maintenance, and a commitmentto safe work practices.

How You’ll Make anImpact

  • 50% Turbine Maintenanceand Repair

  • Perform scheduledpreventive maintenance on wind turbine systems, including mechanical,electrical, and hydraulic components.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, andrepair complex equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime and ensureoperational efficiency.

  • Conduct componentreplacements and system upgrades using a variety of hand tools, powertools, and specialized equipment.

  • Execute torquing,tensioning, and other quality control checks on mechanical assemblies toensure structural integrity and safety.

  • 30% Technical Operationsand Diagnostics

  • Monitor wind turbineperformance and operational status using Supervisory Control and DataAcquisition (SCADA) systems.

  • Analyze technical data andinterpret engineering drawings, schematics, and service manuals to guidetroubleshooting and repair activities.

  • Complete detailed andaccurate service reports, maintenance logs, and investigation findingsfor all work performed.

  • 20% Safety and Compliance

  • Adhere strictly to allcompany and industry Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies andprocedures during all work activities.

  • Perform quality assuranceinspections on completed work to ensure it meets technical specificationsand safety standards.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, andorganized work environment, both on-site and in company vehicles.
