An Avionics Bench Technician specializes in testing, diagnosing, and repairing aircraft electronic components down to the component level within a controlled laboratory or repair station facility. Unlike line technicians who work directly on the aircraft, bench technicians focus on the internal electronics of uninstalled systems.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Testing complex avionics equipment and electrical aircraft systems.

  • Ensuring that all avionics equipment works properly.

  • Assembling and repairing any problematic avionics equipment.

  • Performing intricate and highly reliable soldering on components.

  • Providing accurate diagnoses of difficult avionics problems.

  • Coordinating all work with engineers and co-workers.

  • Keeping detailed records of all repairs and work performed.

Qualifications:

What you will need to be successful in this role :

  • Previous work experience with aircraft electrical repair and with specific aircraft maintenance and repair manuals.

  • Strong working knowledge of aviation safety practices and technology.

  • Excellent analytical, attention-to-detail, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
