Full job description

  • GENERAL SUMMARY

  • Under the general direction of an IS manager, provides support of computer systems to departments throughout CHS. Reports to department leadership.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides support of computer systems by maintaining and enhancing CHS systems to meet the needs of the departments and IS personnel.

  • Serves as a resource to staff regarding specific skill demonstration, promotion of knowledge and communication.

  • Promotes and adheres to departmental and organizational information systems security policies, standards and procedures.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

  • None required.

  • MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Networking, Computer Science, MIS or related discipline.

  • Appropriate work experience may be substituted for four-year degree.

  • Two years of work experience in the field equate to one year of education.

  • Experience with Cisco security appliances to include Firewalls, IDS and IPS. Linux experience a plus.

  • Must meet the insurability policy requirements to drive a CHKD vehicle.

  • Must be able to pass the CHKD driving test within 30 days of employment.

  • Must have good interpersonal skills.

  • WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like with the exception of visits to the computer room.
