RESPONSIBILITIES
Effective: 02/22
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for 24/7 daily operations and activities of Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) and Patient Flow, including Bed Control and Transfer Center.
-
Establishes and maintains a systematic review and assessment of patient flow activities.
-
Provides support to the Manager in data collection, synthesis and analyses related to assigned areas.

Monitors department(s) to ensure achievement of goals and objectives as established by the business plan, and alignment with the strategic plan and vision of The Queen’s Medical Center (QMC).
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: All required, designated by frequency.

Essential: finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.

Continuous: sitting, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
-
Frequent: walking.
-
Occasional: standing, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, lifting and carrying usual weight of 1 pound up to 5 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object.

Operates computer, calculator, telephone, fax and printer.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
-
Current Hawaii state license as a Registered Nurse.
-
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration or related field.
-
Master’s degree preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE:
-
Three (3) years recent nursing experience in an acute care setting.
-
One (1) year supervisory/leadership experience.
-
Experience to demonstrate knowledge of computer applications and hospital information systems, preferably Epic.
-
Prior experience and knowledge of information systems with healthcare enterprise complexity and/or bed tracking/management systems preferred.
