Job Descriptions:

Aviation & Missile Solutions, LLC. (AMS) is seeking a talented Test Instrumentation System Administrator to join our diverse team, in the IFMC Field Office, WSMR, New Mexico., to create unique solutions for complex problems. AMS provides responsive, cost-effective engineering and scientific solutions ranging from air and missile defense technologies, command and control, radar systems, seekers, modeling & simulation, and prototype hardware development and testing.

This position supports an Army Program Office providing setup, operation, IT system administration, technical advice, and maintenance of Test Instrumentation and Simulation (TIS) assets and Army developmental tactical system assets in a field test operations environment. Assets consist of server/switch-based suites with simulation software used to stimulate equipment under test during test event. Experience using TIS tools such as defense planning/engagement simulators, data collection/storage, and the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) Local Area Networks (LAN) is desired. Applicants should have experience with coordinating daily instrumentation and simulation work station tasks, network administrative activities, and have the expertise to lead troubleshooting efforts throughout the Test network. Candidate will be required to perform Cyber-Security scanning along with implementing patch and STIG requirements. Coordination with Army Project Office personnel and test range agencies for equipment support and status is also required.

Candidate must be willing to travel between various DoD test ranges to attend test planning meetings and system integration/testing events and must be able to work in a high paced environment with flexible work schedule during test execution phases. Candidate must be self-motivated and possess good communication and team working skills to coordinate multiple test support activities with various DoD Agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, operate, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot TIS and Army developmental tactical system assets.

  • Administer Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems in a test environment.

  • Coordinate daily instrumentation and simulation workstation activities and network administration tasks.

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts across test networks, systems, and supporting infrastructure.

  • Perform cybersecurity vulnerability scanning and implement required patches and Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements.

  • Support test instrumentation, simulation, data collection, storage, and related system activities.

  • Coordinate equipment support, system status, and technical requirements with Army Project Office personnel, test range agencies, and other DoD organizations.

  • Support system integration, test planning, test execution, and post-test activities at DoD test ranges and facilities.

  • Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain scripts supporting system administration, test operations, and network activities.

  • Provide technical advice and timely status updates to stakeholders supporting multiple concurrent test activities.

Required Experience:

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship.

  • Current Secret security clearance and ability to maintain eligibility for access.

  • Technical degree or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Minimum of three years of technical experience supporting information technology systems on DoD programs involving test and tactical systems instrumentation and simulation.

  • Extensive knowledge of Test Instrumentation and Simulation (TIS) assets.

  • Information management and cybersecurity experience supporting Army Integrated Air and Missile Defense (AIAMD) systems, including PATRIOT and Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS).

  • Demonstrated expertise administering Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems.

  • An approved IT baseline certification, such as CompTIA Security+ CE or higher, at time of hire; candidates who do not currently possess Security+ CE must obtain the certification within 120 days of hire.

  • Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and collaborate with personnel across multiple DoD agencies and organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA Network+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.

  • Linux and Microsoft operating system certifications, such as Linux+, Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), or higher.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of DoD and Army information technology security policies, procedures, and IT administrator practices.

  • Experience supporting DoD secure data network accreditation and certification processes and procedures.

  • Experience using TIS tools, including defense planning and engagement simulators, data collection and storage systems, and WSMR local area networks.

  • Prior experience supporting systems integration and test activities at DoD test ranges and facilities.

  • Working knowledge of one or more scripting languages, with the ability to develop new scripts and troubleshoot existing scripts.

  • Experience supporting cybersecurity compliance activities, including vulnerability scanning, patch management, and STIG implementation.
