About Carvana

At Carvana, we’re changing the way people buy and sell cars. With an ambitious vision and a fundamentally different approach designed to be fun, fast, and fair, Carvana became the fastest-growing automotive retailer in history. We expanded nationally, went public on the New York Stock Exchange, sold our 1 millionth car, and reached the Fortune 500, all in just eight years.

Today, with 4 million retail customers and counting, Carvana is both the fastest-growing and the most profitable public automotive retailer, and we’re just getting started. We continue to raise the bar for our customers as we tackle the enormous opportunity still ahead in the largest consumer vertical.

Working here means being part of a team that embraces change, celebrates creative problem solving, and always strives to be better. At Carvana, you’ll have the opportunity to take on meaningful challenges, learn quickly, and help shape the future of automotive retail. If you’re driven to grow and make an impact as part of a collaborative team, you’ll fit right in. Learn more about what it’s like to work here from the people that already do.

About the team and position

This role leads the analytics and operations function behind a large portion of Carvana's New Car business. You’ll manage Sales and Vehicle GPU, both the planning and execution against drivers of that GPU line item: ordering and pricing vehicles. Ordering decisions drive inventory, inventory drives sales and GPU, and forecasts should feed back into what we order. You do not need automotive industry experience, but you must be excited to use analytical and technical skills, including AI tools, to make an immediate and meaningful impact. We have no shortage of data, resources, or ambition at Carvana, and we want people who share our desire to use data and technology to accelerate our evolution of the traditional car-buying experience.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading and developing Analytics and Operations teams across pricing and ordering operations, forecasting, and partner coordination.

  • Own the New Car Sales, Inventory, and Gross Profit forecasts

  • Owning the quality and reliability of recurring OEM processes, including sales and incentive claims and compliance, so we capture every dollar we're owed.

  • Managing key relationships with key OEM partners.

  • Partnering with FP&A, operations, and other analytics teams to ensure New Car’s plans are aligned with Carvana's plan and priorities.

  • Analyzing large data sets in SQL, Python, Excel, or similar, and using AI tools to monitor performance and identify opportunities for top-line growth and margin gains.

  • Guiding the development of dashboards and models (Tableau, Sigma, Excel, or similar) that communicate performance and surface opportunities.

  • Mentoring managers and analysts on models, visualizations, and stakeholder communication.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What you should have

  • 6+ years of analytics experience, with a background in pricing, forecasting, statistical analysis, or quantitative economics.

  • Analytical mindset with exceptional critical thinking, and comfort navigating and manipulating large data sets to find trends and underlying drivers. Intellectual curiosity and interest in solving problems, particularly using data to answer nebulous questions (for example, how consumers make purchasing decisions).

  • Ability to thrive (and preference to work) in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with frequently changing goals and deadlines.

  • Experience leading and managing teams of analysts, ideally including managers of managers, with a track record of developing talent.

  • Experience building or running forecasting, planning, or demand-based decision processes (ordering, inventory, or supply planning is a plus).

  • Comfort managing external partner relationships.

  • Hands-on fluency AI tools, and a demonstrated habit of using them to work faster and more rigorously. You should also be able to coach a team to do the same.

  • Quantitative undergraduate degree in a field such as engineering, math, economics, statistics, or computer science with a strong academic record. MBA or Master's equivalent strongly preferred. Experience with SQL, Tableau, and/or Python is a plus.

What we’ll offer in return

  • Full-Time Salary Position with a competitive salary.

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits.

  • 401K with company match.

  • A multitude of perks including student loan payments, discounts on vehicles, benefits for your pets, and much more.

  • A great wellness program to keep you healthy and happy both physically and mentally.

  • Access to opportunities to expand your skill set and share your knowledge with others across the organization.

  • A company culture of promotions from within, with a start-up atmosphere allowing for varied and rapid career development.

  • A seat in one of the fastest-growing companies in the country.

Other requirements

To be able to do your job at Carvana, there are some basic requirements we want to share with you.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Of course, we’ll make any reasonable accommodations for those with disabilities to perform the essential functions of their jobs.
