Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician I to join our Insourcing Solutions team in Boston, MA. In this role, you will help ensure the health, welfare, and humane care of laboratory animals within a research environment. You will partner closely with veterinarians, researchers, and animal care staff to support clinical operations, animal welfare programs, and research activities. Job Description What You'll Do

  • Perform daily animal health assessments and clinical observations.

  • Assist with triage, treatment, and follow-up care for animal health concerns.

  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records and communicate findings to veterinary and research teams.

  • Support research studies through sample collection, dose administration, clinical scoring, surgical support, and data collection.

  • Perform animal handling, tissue collection, treatment administration, and other veterinary procedures.

  • Participate in routine health surveillance and biosecurity programs.

  • Assist with diagnostic procedures, necropsies, and humane euthanasia in accordance with established guidelines.

  • Collaborate with veterinarians during clinical rounds and case reviews.

  • Provide excellent customer service and technical support to research teams.

  • Identify opportunities to improve animal welfare, communication, quality, and operational processes.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED plus one of the following:

  • 2+ years of laboratory animal or veterinary experience; or

  • AALAS Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) certification.

OR

Associate's or Bachelor's Degree plus:

  • 1 year of laboratory animal or veterinary experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic veterinary and clinical technical skills.

  • AALAS certification (ALAT or higher).

  • Experience working in a laboratory animal research environment.

  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

Compensation Data The expected pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00 per hour. Compensation will be based on factors including experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location. Physical Requirements
