Full job description

QUALITY ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR:

SHIFT- M-F 7:30-3:30

PAY-$85,000-$95,000 NOT INCLUDING BONUSES

  • Lead and mentor supplier quality teams to ensure outsourced components meet quality, cost, and launch readiness objectives throughout new model development and production ramp-up.

  • Oversee supplier tooling development activities, monitor milestone performance, and approve tool readiness for production launch.

  • Direct supplier quality approval processes, including review of quality documentation, risk assessments, and corrective action plans.

  • Manage cross-functional quality reviews, inspections, and validation events to ensure compliance with engineering and customer requirements.

  • Lead New Model Reviews (NMRs), driving issue resolution and readiness decisions prior to mass production.

  • Provide executive-level reporting on supplier performance, launch risks, quality metrics, and mitigation strategies.

  • Facilitate Quality Review Meetings (QRMs) and Design Review Meetings (DRMs), ensuring accountability and timely closure of action items.

  • Coordinate activities between suppliers, engineering, manufacturing, and R&D teams to support successful product launches.

  • Drive root cause investigations and corrective actions for supplier quality concerns, ensuring long-term process improvements.

  • Establish and maintain supplier quality standards, continuous improvement initiatives, and best practices across new product development programs.

Essential Qualifications

  • Supervisory or team leadership experience within Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, or Quality Assurance.

  • Experience managing supplier quality performance and OEM supplier relationships in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects, drive accountability, and influence stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.

  • Strong knowledge of PPAP, APQP, FMEA, root cause analysis, and new product launch processes.

  • Experience overseeing quality audits, product validations, inspections, and manufacturing readiness reviews.

  • Working knowledge of quality systems and standards, including ISO 9001 and supplier quality requirements.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and technical documentation.

  • Experience developing and implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Understanding of plastics manufacturing, tooling development, and supplier manufacturing processes.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and reporting skills with the ability to present quality metrics and recommendations

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burlington, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $46.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
