Additionally, responsibilities will extend to mentoring and developing Oscar's team of actuaries. This team includes Associate Directors, Managers, and Analysts. Responsibilities will also involve collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in Finance, P&L, Product Development, and others. This actuarial leadership position makes critical actuarial decisions, has ownership of financial estimates and forecasts, and communicates recommendations to senior executives.

You will report into the VP, Actuarial.

Work Location: This position is fully remote and open to candidates residing in the U.S., excluding Alaska; Delaware; Hawaii; Louisiana; Montana; North Dakota; Oklahoma; West Virginia; Wyoming; and U.S. Territories. Daily work is completed from your home office, with occasional travel required for team meetings and company events. #LI-Remote

  • Promote long-term goals and objectives that guide the strategic direction of the Actuarial function as a whole.

  • Have an in-depth understanding of key financial risks and opportunities within the domain and more broadly across Oscar's business. Apply learnings to guide analytical pricing, prospective pricing strategy, SAE considerations, network strategy, and other unique mitigation strategies.
