Shift Available: 1st: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Compensation: $30.89/hr

Job Overview

Join Cargill as a Refinery Technician and support safe, efficient, and compliant refinery operations. In this hands-on role, you’ll operate and monitor chemical processes, perform quality checks and sampling, handle materials, and assist with preventative maintenance to ensure production, utility, and wastewater systems run reliably. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with industrial equipment, following procedures, and contributing to continuous improvement in a regulated environment.

What You Will Do

  • Operate and monitor chemical, mechanical, or thermal processes using equipment control panels, manual valves, and computer systems.

  • Collect samples, run analytical tests, and perform quality checks to ensure products, utilities, and wastewater systems meet specifications.

  • Load and unload chemicals into tank trucks and railcars, and operate mobile equipment such as forklifts or loaders.

  • Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot routine equipment issues using hand, power, and basic electrical tools.

  • Inspect equipment, buildings, and grounds, and assist with light repairs and continuous improvement activities.

  • Follow all safety, regulatory, and permitting requirements while maintaining accurate documentation and a clean, safe work environment.

  • Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or variable shifts with advance notice.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

  • Must be 18 years or older.

  • Ability to understand and communicate in English, verbal and written.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Able to work indoors and outdoors, including at heights of 4 feet or more, and capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, bending, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation and while using appropriate PPE.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience in a production or industrial environment.

  • Experience operating mobile equipment such as forklifts or skid-steers.

  • Experience with boiler operations.
