Summary
This position is located in Division of Risk Management Supervision (RMS) of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in the Chicago, IL, Dallas, TX, or Kansas City, MO Regional Office and is responsible for providing information for management decision support; and overseeing, maintaining, and otherwise supporting Divisional automated applications and information systems. Additional selections may be made from this announcement to fill identical vacancies that arise later.
Duties
At the full performance level, major duties include: Responsible for implementing and assisting in the development of information retrieval and delivery systems, and for coordinating the performance, direction, and completion of all the Region's efforts related to the development and ongoing enhancement of information systems. Works closely with senior Washington and Regional management, field management, and other RMS/ Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection (DCP) staff in order to determine informational data, security, software, and system requirements, needed for effective administrative management information and decision support systems. Applies in-depth technical expertise of RMS/DCP procedures, as well as practical knowledge of software and automated tool applications, information processing systems, corporate database structure, application of available software tools and security governance to design and prepare various management reports, and analyses. Utilizes existing software and automated tools to write complex queries and design reporting tools that can efficiently and accurately meet management needs for making decisions on the administrative and programmatic aspects of the region/division's operations and management. Serves as an Information Security Administrator (ISA) for regional RMS/DCP personnel and non-FDIC users and coordinates regional ISA functions with RMS/DCP Security in the Washington Office. This includes developing procedures and processes for establishing, operating, and assessing the effectiveness of administrative controls as they relate to corporate governance and policy over information security, including both bank and personnel PII, and system access. Maintains effective working relationships with RMS/DCP staff and with personnel from other divisions to develop information systems and resolve issues related to requirements, operational analysis, data collection, information sharing, and system implementation. Qualifications
Qualifying experience is credited from private and public sectors, including paid and unpaid service (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps). Volunteer service builds competencies that translate to paid work. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience. See OPM's General Schedule Qualification Standards for details. CG-13: Applicants must complete one year of specialized experience equivalent to the CG/GS-12 level or above in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: participating in the development and/or implementation of information technology business processes and policies; and performing analyses on data sets to create reports addressing issues or objectives and requirements. CG-14: Applicants must complete one year of specialized experience equivalent to the CG/GS-13 level or above in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: leading a team in the development and implementation of information technology to enhance business processes or operations; performing analyses on data sets to create reports addressing issues or objectives and requirements; and providing guidance on information systems to stakeholders to include senior management.
