Full job description

Mortgage Origination Customer Service Representative

Location: Indianapolis, IN (Onsite)

Type: Contract

Schedule: 40 hours/week

Shift Window: 8-hour shifts scheduled between 7:30 AM – 6:30 PM ET (based on business need)

Pay Rate: $24/hr (W2)

Security Requirement: Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance (includes background + credit check)

About the role

If you have experience in mortgage origination (loan processing, underwriting support, loan officer/originations, etc.) and enjoy helping people, this role is a great way to use your mortgage knowledge in a customer-focused environment. You’ll support questions related to mortgage guidelines and processes, while learning more about government/FHA-style policies and procedures.

What you’ll do

  • Respond to inbound questions via phone and email from industry professionals and the public

  • Use a knowledge base and search tools to find accurate answers and provide clear guidance

  • Follow documented procedures across different topics/systems/contact channels

  • Document interactions thoroughly in a database

  • Stay current on mortgage processes, updates, and best practices

What we’re looking for (required)

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 2+ years of mortgage origination experience (examples: loan originator, loan processor, junior underwriter, loan officer)

  • 1+ year of contact center and/or phone-based customer service experience

  • Comfortable navigating multiple computer systems and using search tools

  • Strong communication skills (written + verbal) and professional phone etiquette

  • Dependable, organized, and able to manage time well

  • Typing speed 40 WPM or higher

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (credit/background check)

Nice to have

  • FHA knowledge/background

  • Bilingual English/Spanish (strongly preferred, not required)

  • Omnichannel contact center experience
