Job Title: MPH / Warehouse I Job Description

This Warehouse I role supports day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, shipping, inventory control, and material handling. The position primarily works on second shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with initial onboarding and training on first shift during the first month. You will help ensure products move efficiently and accurately through the warehouse while maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Unload incoming shipments and verify items against packing lists or invoices to ensure accuracy.

  • Inspect incoming goods, report damaged or missing items, and label products for proper identification and storage.

  • Move items to assigned storage locations and follow the established warehouse layout, including bins, racks, and zones.

  • Maintain an organized, clean storage area and use equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when trained and certified.

  • Pick items according to order lists or scanner instructions while ensuring correct item, quantity, and quality.

  • Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures when required and report shortages or incorrect inventory promptly.

  • Pack items securely to prevent damage in transit and verify order accuracy before sealing packages.

  • Apply labels and shipping documents accurately and follow company packaging standards.

  • Prepare orders for dispatch, load trucks safely and correctly, and double-check shipments against orders.

  • Support on-time delivery goals by maintaining an efficient and accurate shipping process.

  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory checks and report discrepancies or damaged stock.

  • Help maintain accurate inventory records and keep stock locations updated and well organized.

  • Operate warehouse equipment safely when trained, performing basic checks before use and reporting malfunctions immediately.

  • Follow all safety procedures and rules, including the use of required personal protective equipment such as gloves, vests, and helmets.

  • Keep work areas clean and free of hazards and report unsafe conditions or accidents without delay.

  • Collaborate closely with leads, supervisors, and teammates to meet productivity and quality goals.

  • Follow instructions, communicate issues quickly such as delays, damages, or shortages, and support the team during high-volume periods.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization through 5S and general housekeeping practices.

  • Follow company policies and procedures, be punctual and reliable, and remain flexible to perform different tasks as needed.

  • Meet key expectations for accuracy in picking and packing, productivity in meeting daily targets, adherence to safety standards, and consistent reliability in attendance and performance.

  • Deliver supplies, boxes, pallets, and parts to workstations to support continuous operations as a material handler or line support.

  • Refill pick locations or production lines before they run out and monitor inventory levels on the floor.

  • Keep pickers, packers, and operators supplied so they remain productive and remove completed work such as finished goods and full pallets.

  • Prevent bottlenecks in high-volume areas by moving materials efficiently and staging items for the next process.

  • Transport materials between receiving, storage, picking, and shipping using pallet jacks, carts, or forklifts when certified.

  • Remove empty pallets, totes, and trash to keep work areas clean and organized and support 5S standards.

  • Stay in constant contact with leads, supervisors, and team members, responding quickly to supply requests or shortages.

  • Report delays, inventory issues, or urgent needs to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.

  • Assist with restocking and location organization and identify low inventory levels, alerting leads or supervisors as needed.

  • Support cycle counts and other inventory control activities when requested.

  • Keep aisles clear and free of hazards and follow all PPE and safety rules while operating equipment and moving materials.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving, storage, and picking.

  • Hands-on experience in shipping processes and procedures.

  • Practical warehouse experience with tasks such as unloading, stocking, and material movement.

  • Order picking experience with attention to correct item, quantity, and quality.

  • Ability to follow written and scanner-based instructions accurately.

  • Strong focus on accuracy to avoid errors in picking and packing.

  • Consistent productivity to meet or exceed daily operational targets.

  • Commitment to safety and adherence to established safety procedures and PPE requirements.

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality to support stable warehouse operations.

  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and move materials throughout the shift.

  • Ability to operate pallet jacks and other basic warehouse equipment; willingness to use forklifts if trained and certified.

  • Effective communication skills to report issues, coordinate with team members, and respond to requests promptly.

  • Ability to multitask and manage several workflow priorities at once in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong awareness of workflow and priorities to keep materials and supplies moving efficiently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a shipping and receiving environment.

  • Previous work in a warehouse setting handling picking, packing, or material handling tasks.

  • Experience supporting production lines or high-volume fulfillment operations.

  • Familiarity with FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.

  • Experience with 5S or similar housekeeping and organization standards.

  • Forklift certification or prior forklift operating experience is preferred.

  • Comfort using pallet jacks, carts, and other material handling equipment.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support different areas of the warehouse as needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $23.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
