  • Job Title: Engineering Technician 1

  • Location: Redondo Beach, CA 90278

  • Job Type: Full-Time, Contract

  • Contract Duration: 8 months

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9/80 schedule

  • Pay Rate: $42.85 per hour

  • Work Location: On-site

What You’ll Do

As an Engineering Technician 1 , you will support the Integration Test & Launch (IT&L) department , working directly with space-flight hardware in a challenging, collaborative, and rewarding environment.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Assemble, integrate, and test space-flight hardware.

  • Interpret and work from blueprints, specifications, and detailed work instructions.

  • Safely handle and assemble delicate and ESD-sensitive flight hardware .

  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other team members in a dynamic production and test environment.

  • Assist with occasional assembly of non-flight Ground Support Equipment (GSE) .

  • Work with forklifts, cranes, and associated rigging equipment as required.

  • Utilize hand tools, mechanical equipment, and measurement devices to support assembly and testing activities.

  • Follow established procedures while maintaining a strong focus on quality, precision, and safety.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should have:

  • Basic understanding of mechanical principles.

  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.

  • Familiarity with hand tools and measurement devices.

  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft tools.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow technical instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

We’d especially like to hear from candidates who have:

  • Experience working with mechanical and electrical tools.

  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical hardware.

  • Previous experience in a hands-on assembly, integration, manufacturing, aerospace, or similar technical environment.

Pay Details: $42.85 per hour
