Senior Software Engineer – AI Developer Enablement (Python, JavaScript, AI Tools, Automation)

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and internal engineering solutions. This role focuses on developer enablement, AI-assisted software development, engineering productivity, automation, and software development lifecycle (SDLC) acceleration.

The position involves working across the full software development lifecycle, including software architecture, development, testing, deployment, performance optimization, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering teams to accelerate adoption of AI-assisted software development tools and practices.

• Build and maintain internal tooling, automation, and integrations that improve the developer experience.

• Develop prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and production-ready solutions leveraging AI development platforms, coding assistants, and agent-based technologies.

• Create reusable templates, reference implementations, and engineering accelerators that can be adopted across development teams.

• Support onboarding, workshops, office hours, and technical enablement activities for engineering teams.

• Engage with customers to understand use cases, pain points, and requirements while advocating for user-centric software solutions.

• Solve complex problems by designing, developing, and delivering solutions using various tools, languages, frameworks, methodologies, and technologies.

• Assess software application or service requirements and determine suitable technology stacks, integration methods, and deployment strategies.

• Create high-level software architecture designs outlining the overall structure, components, and interfaces of applications.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, designers, and architects.

• Define and implement software testing strategies, guidelines, policies, and processes.

• Continuously improve application performance and optimize applications while implementing new technologies to improve development efficiency.

• Apply programming practices such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.

• Support security practices to safeguard user data, including encryption and anonymization.

• Create user-friendly and interactive interfaces.

• Develop and maintain back-end applications, including APIs and microservices, using server-side languages.

• Develop dashboards and reporting capabilities to measure adoption, productivity, and engineering effectiveness.

• Identify friction points within software delivery processes and implement automation to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.

• Contribute to SDLC acceleration initiatives spanning requirements, development, testing, deployment, and operations.

• Work with platform, architecture, and security teams to implement engineering standards and best practices.

• Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and capabilities to deliver solutions and participate in the development of new technology stack layers.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.

• 10+ years of IT experience.

• 8+ years of software development experience.

• Practical experience in two coding languages or advanced practical experience in one coding language.

• Strong JavaScript skills, including the ability to develop and maintain JavaScript-based tools or integrations that improve developer productivity and enable AI-powered workflows.

• Experience with Artificial Intelligence and Expert Systems, including the ability to apply AI concepts and tools to practical developer workflows and help teams use them effectively and responsibly.

• Strong Python skills, including the ability to write Python scripts and applications to automate tasks, integrate AI capabilities, and support developer enablement.

• Ability to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and products.

• Experience working across the software development lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Java codebases and the ability to support AI and developer enablement tools used by Java development teams.

• Experience with AI-assisted software development tools, coding assistants, and agent-based technologies.

• Experience developing automation, internal tooling, integrations, dashboards, or engineering productivity solutions.

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid work arrangement with four days per week in the office.

• The role requires onsite work from the start of employment.
