The RSC Every Campus a Refuge (ECAR) Setting Up for Success (SUFS) program provides workforce preparation, career exploration, and contextualized English language support to adult learners with ORR (Office of Refugee Resettlement) eligibility, in partnership with the United States Committee for Refugees and Immigrants Albany field office (USCRI-Albany).

Counselor will provide individualized academic, career, and workforce guidance and mentorship to ECAR participants. Responsibilities will include helping participants identify career and educational goals and pathways, facilitating workforce preparedness micro credential workshops, and providing ongoing support and follow-up. Navigators/Advisors will also coordinate connections and mentorship of RSC students involved in the program. Navigators/Advisors will collaborate closely with USCRI-Albany and other SUFS partners and will report to the RSC EACR SUFS Program Director.

This is a grant-funded position of limited duration.

Pay rate: $30/hour, 10-15 hours/week

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors required, master's preferred

  • Experience working with newcomer populations preferred

  • These are time delimited, grant funded positions
