Join our mining operations team at our Magnet Cove Bentonite Plant and help keep our equipment running safely and efficiently.

• Mechanic positions require a CDL with endorsements for doubles, tankers, and hazmat. If you have preventative maintenance experience but not a CDL, we’ll pay for you to earn it within 6 months of hire.

We are seeking a Mechanic Helper to serve as a field oiler/lube technician while assisting with the repair and maintenance of heavy mining equipment, haul trucks, and facilities. This is a great opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude who enjoys working outdoors, troubleshooting equipment, and learning new skills in a mining environment.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventative maintenance, lubrication, fueling, and inspections on mine equipment

• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment and haul trucks

• Identify and repair electrical issues, hydraulic hose failures, and oil leaks

• Use computer diagnostic tools to troubleshoot equipment problems

• Perform welding and basic fabrication work as needed

• Complete pre- and post-shift inspections and PMs

• Communicate maintenance needs and safety concerns to supervisors and team members

• Maintain a safe, clean, and environmentally responsible work area

• Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental procedures

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Current CDL with Tanker, Doubles, and HazMat endorsements required

• Welding certification may be required

• 6 months to 1 year of preventative maintenance experience preferred

• General mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment

• Basic welding and metalworking skills

• Basic computer and math skills

• Strong communication and recordkeeping abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions

• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Regular exposure to dust, noise, machinery, and mobile equipment

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and climbing

• Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.

• Must be able to wear required PPE and comply with all safety requirements
