Full job description
M&S (which stands for Management and Solutions) was conceived in 2002 with the vision of creating highly effective teams of elite consultants to deliver strategic process and technology solutions to enterprise organizations across the US. Our commitment to delivery in complex environments and long-term customer success has merged process and technology into innovative solutions, established deep pockets of expertise, and enabled innovative transformation for evolving businesses.
We have intentionally cultivated steady growth focused on being approachable and helpful to our dearly valued clients and closely cared-for employees. M&S people simply “care hard”, and this reflects in our work products, our interactions, and our culture.
Job Responsibilities:
-
Assess clients existing LogicMonitor and PagerDuty environment, identify technical debt, and recommend improvements.
-
Redesign and optimize monitoring configurations, collectors, DataSources, alert thresholds, dashboards, and escalation workflows.
-
Implement self-service monitoring capabilities so engineering teams can manage their own monitoring and alerting without relying on the centralized monitoring team.
-
Develop automation, reusable monitoring templates, and role-based access controls (RBAC) to reduce manual administration.
-
Improve integrations between LogicMonitor, PagerDuty, and ServiceNow, including automated incident creation and alert routing.
-
Reduce false positives, duplicate alerts, and unnecessary notifications.
-
Develop scripts and integrations using Groovy, Python, PowerShell, and REST APIs.
-
Document improvements, establish monitoring standards, and provide knowledge transfer to clients engineering teams.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
-
Strong hands-on LogicMonitor experience, including administration, configuration, architecture, DataSources, LogicModules, and collectors.
-
PagerDuty experience, including integrations, escalation policies, incident management, and alert routing.
-
Experience redesigning or modernizing enterprise monitoring environments.
-
Experience implementing self-service monitoring and automation for engineering teams.
-
Strong understanding of Windows/Linux, VMware, networking, and cloud infrastructure.
-
Experience with scripting, REST APIs, webhooks, and monitoring integrations.
-
ServiceNow integration experience is highly preferred.
-
Groovy scripting experience is a strong plus.
-
Ability to independently assess, design, and implement solutions while working directly with client engineering teams.
-
Ideally 5+ years of enterprise monitoring, observability, or infrastructure engineering experience.
Most Important:
This needs to be a senior, hands-on engineer who can independently modernize the existing environment and help client transition toward self-service monitoring—not simply someone who has used LogicMonitor and PagerDuty to monitor systems and respond to alerts.
